Following Dr Laurel Parnell’s sold-out workshops in the UK in 2015 and 2017 on Attachment-Focused EMDR, these two London weekend workshops offer a detailed introduction to the principles of using EMDR at relational and attachment depth with complex clients, and a practical and supervised chance to try the skills out for yourself.

Open to psychotherapists and counsellors trained at least to Part 3 level in basic EMDR, these weekends will be led by EMDR-Europe Accredited Consultant and Parnell Institute post-basic Trainer Facilitator Mark Brayne.

Approaching EMDR from the perspective of transpersonal psychotherapy, we will explore the use of creative imagination in resourcing clients who present with dysfunction rooted in experiences of childhood, and the importance of an attachment-focused identification of key targets for EMDR processing .

The weekend offers a space to build on the fundamental skills of what was learned in basic training (Francine Shapiro’s Adaptive Information Processing Model AIP, with its eight-phase treatment structure and the three prongs of past, present and future), highlighting also the importance of creative interweaves and of session structure in working with intuition and client-centred flexibility.

With just 36 places, and meeting in the beautiful ballroom of the CCPE on the Grand Union Canal just north of Paddington station, each weekend will explore and practise key elements of creative and attachment-focused resourcing, bridging and interweaves, with a live demonstration session and discussion of attachment-focused EMDR in practice.

On Sunday, participants will have the opportunity to practise with each other in dyads/pairs, both as therapist and client, with proactive supervision from our small EMDR Focus team of Parnell Institute-trained Facilitators.

COST £250 including CPD certificate, coffees and teas.

Lunches will be available from outlets on Sheldon Square, between the CCPE and Paddington Station just a 5′ walk away.

12 Official EMDR Association UK & Ireland CPD points.
