INFORMATION FOR SUPERVISEES/CONSULTEES v. October 2026
Thank you for your interest in EMDR supervision/consultation. Let me set out the basics of how we might work together.
I work online only, and unless otherwise agreed, my standard fee for individual supervision is £175 per hour (including VAT). The fee for participation in a closed monthly group (90 mins) is £85 per person. The fee for monthly Live Session workshops is £85 for the first two hours, and £110 for the full four. Open Space workshops are £85. All group and workshop fees are +VAT.
Group sessions are recorded and transcribed for sharing with all on the registered list including those not able to attend at the time. Learnings are summarised and shared using Claude AI. For individual supervision, recording is optional.
Payment is requested where possible in advance of each session, by direct BACS transfer to EMDR Focus Ltd at Wise Bank (acc no 91515359 and sort code 23-14-70.)
In accordance with the UKCP Code of Ethics, and to improve the quality of service I provide, I consult regularly with a clinical supervisor and with fellow EMDR Consultants. Doing this, I do not reveal identifying information about yourself, your clients or your organisation.
I keep simple handwritten summary records (securely stored online on Microsoft OneNote) of key points discussed, and adhere in all aspects of my practice to the provisions of relevant UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) legislation.
Artificial intelligence is now a central part of how I work. I use AI tools, principally Anthropic’s Claude, to help me reflect on supervision and consultation work and to support my thinking and teaching. This has become my normal way of working, and unless we clearly agree otherwise, it is the basis on which I work with everyone. If working in this way discomfits you, I might not be the right person with whom to work, and I will not take offence.
As a workshop leader and EMDR/EMDRIA Accredited/Approved Consultant where it is important that trainees learn about real-life examples of therapy in action, on my workshops and for professional publications I may on occasion draw on examples from my work. Unless explicitly authorised, I will never reveal a client’s or supervisee’s identity. For any publication, I take care to alter personal data, and when illustrating a theoretical concept may amalgamate several cases into one example.
I work in an open and transparent way, offering experience- and research-informed perspectives on what you bring to our group. This can include on occasion, and where appropriate, stories from my own professional and personal journey which includes diagnosis in later life with Aspergers/ Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). If this discomfits you, again, I might not be the right person with whom to work. I will not take offence.
I will give as much notice as possible of any change in my availability. Where I need to cancel, or to shift a regular date and you cannot therefore make an agreed session, you will not be invoiced, unless in the case of group supervision you would still like access to the recording.
Our group sessions will be confidential. If I have concerns which relate to the code of ethics mentioned above, for example involving the safety or well-being of a practitioner/supervisee (such as the practitioner’s fitness to practise), or of a client or a client’s family (such as a child who is in danger), I may wish to consult with another professional.
I will always discuss this first with the supervisee concerned. In an organisational context I may, if appropriate and necessary, wish to contact an appropriate line manager to ensure that the matter is resolved. I may recommend that a practitioner undertake personal counselling or psychotherapy if s/he/they are not already doing so at the time.
Embarking on and continuing supervision/training/workshopping with me will be taken as acceptance of the above understandings.
GDPR:
I am registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) with the number ZA797371
I use cloud storage and AI tools, including Microsoft OneDrive, OneNote and Anthropic’s Claude, to keep and reflect on my records of our work. These operate under their own data-protection and confidentiality safeguards. I share only what is necessary for the reflective work, and nothing intended to identify you or your clients.
You have the right to access your records within one month of making a request. You also have the right to request that any records be erased at any point in our work together. I will erase any information and notes seven years after the end of our work together. Contract and Civil Law requires they be kept for this time.
If I am indisposed and unable to continue to meet for any reason, I have a nominated Executor for my Professional Will who will contact you to notify you of my situation and help in whatever way is appropriate. To this end, my Executor will have access to your email address and telephone number.
Practical Considerations for Online work:
- For EMDR supervision I use Zoom, and will send you a link which you need to click to be ready at the appointed time.
- You will need to be in a safe and private space before we open the session, and to have your computer or mobile set up with a good internet connection.
- Make sure before you connect that you have the correct microphone and video turned on in the browser/operating system you are using. You can check these under Sound Settings.
- It is important if all possible that you use headphones rather than listen to the call on your laptop/computer speakers. Good headphones with their own microphone can be bought from Amazon or similar retailers for £30 upwards. Bone conduction phones are best – Shokz are excellent if expensive.
- Your computer or mobile needs to be positioned at a sensible height so that I can clearly see your face and that you are looking horizontally and not down into the camera.
- Make sure there is adequate lighting in the room you are in. Do not have your back to a window or light, as this can make it very hard for you to be seen clearly.
- You agree to join the meeting at the appointed time, or if that proves to be difficult to advise as soon as possible by text or email. Delays caused by technical or other problems at your end will count towards the time of the session. If the issues are at my end, I will normally offer either an extension of our session or another time to make that good.
- Finally, the legals. The Laws of England and Wales are deemed to govern this contract. Any litigation process must be brought in UK Courts only. If there are any applicable legal or other considerations, these must be brought to my attention before we start work.
