As the newest member of EMDR Focus (though long-steeped in the team’s enthusiasm for EMDR – there’s a clue in the surname), Katharine has a Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy from the University of East London where she’s now (2025) working towards a Masters, and she’s EMDR-trained with Dr Jamie Marich’s Institute for Creative Mindfulness in the USA.
Katharine has a First Class degree in Drama and Dance from Exeter University (2008), and travelling the world through the 2010s from her previous base in New Zealand, she’s passionate about movement and meaning.
She’s lived and studied at the global centre of anthroposophy at Dornach in Switzerland, with a year’s teaching in sport and movement at the Steiner Waldorf school in Forest Row in the south of England.
During the pandemic, Katharine led online courses in Bothmer movement, which has emerged over the decades from the teachings of Rudolf Steiner, built on an holistic view of the human being rooted in movement, spirit, therapeutic education, and self development.
At EMDR Focus, Katharine supports the facilitation of workshops and online presence as attachment-informed EMDR increasingly becomes mainstream to the global EMDR community.
Katharine has her own focused and individual EMDR practice, Braynewaves, where unless otherwise agreed, her standard fee for a 60-minute session is £120.
